Television

I have been involved in TV weather at all 3 institutions I've attended/worked at! I now have nearly a decade of experience, finding it to be a powerful way to build skills in graphic design, verbal communication, and deliberate storytelling.

FSU Weather

This is a 30-minute, student-produced show. I started in September 2015, a few weeks into taking FSU's Weathercasting class. I appeared on dozens of shows in 2015-2016, then was named a Team Leader (Producer) for Summer 2016-Spring 2017. In this role, I was responsible for building the show's layout, graphics, and lineup of on-air talent for a day of the week, occasionally running the controls in the background as well. Our team live-streamed through Hurricanes Hermine (2016), Irma (2017), and Michael (2018). Using the show's equipment and graphics, we also developed "FSU Weather on Wheels", a mobile weathercasting setup for youth outreach activities! Check out the show weeknights at 6:00 PM Eastern at this link.

UND Weather Update

This is a student-led weather broadcast produced every Monday-Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters, from the Aerospace Network Studio on the UND campus. I will be serving as the Faculty Advisor for the team, attempting to fill the well-regarded shoes of recently-retired Prof. Fred Remer. Take a second to appreciate the blue wall (UND students love to wear green...), and check out their forecasts daily on Facebook!

Weather World

This is a 15-minute show airing throughout Pennsylvania, run by the Weather Communications Group at Penn State. I debuted to review the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season, then began weekly appearances in May 2023. For Weather World, I performed 2-day forecasts throughout Pennsylvania, and led "Tropical Tracker" to discuss Atlantic Hurricane Season and produce educational content on tropical meteorology. Check out the show weeknights at 5:45 PM Eastern at this link.
